For our headliner show, Music Mends presents indie-rock musician JON MCKIEL who will be joining us in South Bend all the way from Nova Scotia, Canada! Jon McKiel’s music is a blend of lo-fi indie rock and folk with gentle emotive vocal delivery and melodic guitar. He has recorded five records, starting in 2011.

Let’s give our guest artist Jon Mckiel a warm, respectful South Bend welcome. We invite you to become familiar with his music before the show on our Music Mends Presents Jon Mckiel playlist on Spotify. The playlist covers top stream songs including “Mourning Dove,” “Everlee,” “String,” “War on You,” and “Secret Mana,” as well as new tunes from his 2024 album “Hex” including his title song “Hex.”

The songs of Jon McKiel are born of the bruised marshlands of remote New Brunswick, from the craggy shores of the Atlantic coast; places where nature is a powerful wonder and the made-world is in slow decay. What might otherwise be construed as paranoia or pessimism, is softened by a genuine sense of longing and tenderness, and world-weary poetics combine natural elements with bits of fantasy and lucid dreamscapes.” -You’ve Changed Records
